Contract Type: Open-ended (Based in Nairobi, Kenya)
Salary: £26,843 Net per annum + competitive benefits package
The role is a senior management post reporting to the Regional Director and a member of the regional management team (RMT).
This role provides regional technical and strategic leadership in humanitarian programmes across Horn, East & Central Africa (HECA).
The post holder contributes to the shaping of the Oxfam GB corporate humanitarian strategy and the role is accountable for the development and implementation of the regional humanitarian preparedness strategy.
The role has people management responsibility of the rapid response team at the regional center, matrix management of country humanitarian programme coordinators and manages a small regional budget. The role is the regional security focal point.

You will have a minimum of a first degree in any discipline with extensive experience of emergency and development work, and understanding of relevant humanitarian and policy issues in a similar context.
You will need to have strong analytical and strategic planning skills with good experience in proposal development and report writing.
Equally important is your diplomacy, influencing and negotiating skills and ability to build good relations both internally and externally.
Public Health Co-ordinator

You will have relevant qualification in any discipline relating to Public Health Engineering/promotion with extensive practical experience in developing countries in WASH programmes, some of this should have been in emergency refugee programmes at a coordination level.
You will need to have strong ability to present concise reports, sometimes at short notice, reflecting the problems and possible solutions for particular situations.
You will have interpersonal, diplomacy, tact and administrative skills in order to work with people at managerial and, on occasions, senior UN/government levels.
