Location: Kenya - KaloleniThe incumbent will be based in Kaloleni and will report to the Programme Manager Environmental Health.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing overall leadership and project management through co-ordination and supervision of the implementation of project activities
- Planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating project activities including writing technical reports for donors
- Facilitating capacity building activities for the project implementation team, community structures, DHMT and other stakeholders.
- Conducting operations research, documenting and sharing results for advocacy for influencing policies and practices.
- Working with program staff to document and disseminate best practices and lessons learnt.
- Managing project resources including staff, finances etc
- Developing and promoting partnerships and networking with relevant stakeholders including and not limited to local authorities, relevant government of Kenya ministries and NGOs
- Ensuring Project Integration and growth by participating in country office and programme meetings.
- Developing new concepts and proposals for fundraising
Qualifications, Experience and Skills
The ideal candidate should have a Masters Degree in Public Health with at least 5 years hands on experience in project management related to Water, Sanitation, Hygiene with an emphasis on School based health projects using among others PHASE approach. He/she should have experience in project management, capacity building, networking, operations research, documentation, monitoring and evaluation, budget management and people’s management skills.
In addition the ideal candidate must be an excellent communicator, team player and computer literate.
