Some genuine Kenyan job seekers smsed and they received this email but having gone through it, and seen previous warnings on this website, you can easily know it’s a scam based on the following reasons:
1.The company insists on paying ksh 500 before any interview. This should be the first indicator that the job is not genuine. We have said before that once an interviewer asks you for money tell them to deduct from your first salary. It is like a Mganga telling you he can make you Kshs. 1,000,000 but you have to pay Kshs. 5,000. Tell him to deduct and give you the rest.
2. Why pay for an interview for a job you might not get due to statics issue.
3. Genuine jobs don’t ask for cash
4.There isn’t any referral person just in case of anything.
5. Then they are saying a casual for 9 months whose dues won’t be taxed!!!!!!!

Background
The UN Mine Action Programme in Somalia had been implemented by UNDP since 2002. The programme started in Somaliland (1992-1993, 1997-1998 and 1999-present), and Puntland (2003-2005), and has implemented capacity building projects, provided technical assistance for the national Somaliland and Puntland Mine Action centres and the Police Explosive Ordnance disposal teams. Mine Action operations in South Central Somalia were launched in 2007 with the primary objective of establishing a national Mine Action Coordination Center to cover the remaining regions of south central Somalia.
From early 2010, responsibility for the UN Mine Action Programme in Somalia (UNSOMA) transitioned to the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS), executed by UNOPS. In South Central Somalia, UNSOMA will expand activities, requiring additional Operations and Quality Assurance support. This will involve activities in all five pillars of mine action, as well as Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) activities in Mogadishu to reduce the large amounts of Explosive Remnants of War (ERW) and stockpiles throughout the city.
