Coffee Board of Kenya, a State Corporation mandated to promote competitiveness in the production, processing and branding of Kenya coffee and to regulate the Coffee Industry, seeks to recruit a self motivated, dynamic and results-oriented person to fill the following position:
LEGAL OFFICER – REF. CBK/CONT/12/2010
Reporting to the Head of Legal Section, the Legal Officer’s duties and responsibilities
will include:
- Representing the Board in Court;
- Advising the Board on all legal matters;
- Drawing and signing of agreements/contract;
- Advising the Board on matters regarding arbitration and prosecution;
- Execution of Bank Guarantees and Performance Bonds
- Administrative duties as directed by the Head of Legal Section.
Requirements for Appointment
(i) A Degree in Law (LLB) from a recognized institution;
(ii) A Diploma from the Kenya School of Law;
(iii) Must have a current Practicing Certificate and demonstrated a high degree of
professional competence;
(iv) Must have at least 3 years Post Admission working experience in a busy Law
Firm
(v) Have the ability to work under minimum supervision.
(vi) Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal relations.
(vii) Be fluent in English and Kiswahili;
(viii) Must be computer literate
Attractive remuneration package commensurate with the responsibilities and within the structure of the Board will be negotiated with the right candidate. The position will be on a one (1) year renewable contract subject to satisfactory performance.
