Alliance Française de Nairobi Finance Manager/Accountant Job in Kenya
The Finance manager / Accountant will be in charge of the overall accounting function.
He/She will work under the Executive Director and will ensure that appropriate financial regulations and controls are in place and in use at all times in accordance with established guidelines and financial policies as well as legal and regulatory requirements.

General Duties Include

Manage the financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems
    * Ensure that proper books of accounts and records are kept at all timesDirecting, monitoring and controlling of daily accounting duties
    * Verification that Cash book update is correctly done
    * Receipt of daily cash sales, follow up on banking
    * Verification of Invoices and authorizing payment
    * Control of daily expenditures and supplier management
    * Ensuring that financial practices are in accordance with established guidelines and financial policies

Planning, Budgeting and Reporting
    * Preparation of annual budgets in collaboration with management (General Budget and Grant Budgets)
    * Preparing monthly and /or ad hoc reports as required by management
    * Monthly expenditure reports showing variations from budgets and general management of activity budgets
    * Managing revenues, Term deposits and Monitoring and interpreting cash flows

Asset Management
    * Keeping of an updated Inventory of the organizations Assets and stocks

External Audit and conformance with Statutory requirements

    * Prepare accounts for external audit
    * Collaborate with HR Manager to ensure conformity with statutory requirements regarding NSSF, NHIF, PAYE

General Administrative duties and any other tasks as may be delegated from by the Executive Director from time to time within the scope of this post

Educational and Experience Requirements

    * Bachelor of Commerce degree
    * Minimum CPA II
    * 5 years experience in a busy accounting environment
    * Good level of French – Written and Spoken

Job Description

    * Full time - 40-hour week - One-year renewable contract, 3 months probation period
    * A competitive and commensurate package will be offered to successful candidate
