Centre for Corporate Governance Expression of Interest to Conduct Corporate Governance Studies
The Centre for Corporate Governance, a company limited by guarantee, is the Premier institution for Corporate Governance training and development in the region. The Centre facilitates the achievement of high standards of corporate governance in all sectors, corporations and institutions in the region through training, education, research, monitoring, evaluation and advocacy.
The Centre’s firm strategic leadership in the promotion, facilitation and entrenchment of best practices in corporate governance for the socio-economic development and transformation of the region is founded on excellence, transparency, integrity, accountability and ethical practices.
In the furtherance of its mandate, the Centre is seeking for technical proposals from research institutions, consultancy firms or a consortium of consultants to carry out target-specific research and case studies in corporate governance in Kenya in the following areas:
·         Research Studies: Small and medium enterprises (SMEs); family-owned business enterprises; practices in companies/corporations; and practices in schools.

·         Case Studies of specific companies/institutions: A large successful company/corporation; a fast growing SME; and a company/corporation/institution with governance challenges.
It is expected that these studies will last for a period not exceeding one month. The technical proposals must include: company profile; biodata of three key personnel; relevant research undertaken in the last five years; research objectives/hypotheses; a conceptual model derived from current literature; research methodology; brief description of statistical tools to be applied; a detailed workplan and the total cost of each research/ case study.
Qualified firms, with in-depth qualitative and quantitative analytical expertise, should send detailed technical proposals marked “ Consultancy for Research/Case Study”, in any or all of the areas listed, to the undersigned in sealed envelopes not later than October 12, 2010.
