EABL Careers & Jobs. Head of Marketing, Spirits East Africa.
Context/ Scope:
• An integral position within the EABL Marketing team and key to the leadership of the spirits portfolio in East Africa.
• This role would be ideal for a senior Marketing Manager wishing to further develop their portfolio management skills, people development skills, commercial and senior stakeholder influencing.
• This role leads the portfolio strategy development, insight generation, development and implementation of growth drivers to ensure volume, profit and market share delivery of the EABL spirits business.
Purpose of Role:
Manage & build strong, profitable spirits portfolio of brands that consumers adore and that our customers champion.
Top 3-5 Accountabilities:
• Drive spirits business performance across the region
o Champion the spirits portfolio amongst internal and external stakeholders to ensure volume, profit and market share delivery.
o Lead and drive brand portfolio strategies and resource against the brand portfolio according to the portfolio strategy.
o Convert deep local insights in to value generating propositions through the application of the above tools and principles.
o Facilitate search and spin across brand teams.
• Develop the regional and in-market spirits brand teams
o Fully integrate principles of DWBB and DMC in to local consumer marketing processes and methodologies.
o Coach and mentor the regional and in-market teams across entire spectrum of marketing activity from insight generation & application through to pricing, brand tracking, communication development etc.
• Manage relationships to deliver amazing outcomes
o Inter-functional relationships, in particular sales, supply chain and finance.
o Liaise with Global brand teams and Africa brand executives.
o Regulate and maintain relationships with external providers, specifically advertising agencies ATL & BTL.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelors degree in a business related field
• Professional qualification in Marketing (CIM) or MBA
Experience:
• A minimum 10 years consumer marketing, trade marketing or sales management experience of which at least 4 years should have been as a Marketing Manager at an FMCG company.
• Previously demonstrated success in marketing management.
Barriers to Success in Role:
• Lack of marketing functional depth
• Inability to travel across East Africa
• Inability to work across different cultures
• Inability to engage or influence a broad set of individuals
• Lack of flexibility – time required on site.
