ERADICATION OF POVERTY, HUNGER AND THE PROVISION OF HUMANITARIAN AID
Equity Bank has partnered with both governmental and non-governmental groups such as the Alliance for Green Revolution in Africa (AGGRA, the World Economic Forum (WEF) under the project Business Alliance against Chronic Hunger (BAACH) and the Millennium Promise to make credit accessible to farmers and thereby helping improve food security and contributing to the eradication of poverty and hunger.

Equity Bank also supports communities in distress. Thus, following the post –election violence in January, 2008, the Bank, in conjunction with various stakeholders, supported Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) by providing aid valued at Ksh 85 Million through the ‘Tumaini na Undugu’ initiative. Further, the Bank extended credit with flexible security and repayment terms as well as financial literacy programmes to help the victims regain their dignity and pick up their lives by starting small income generating activities individually or in groups.

Finance Manager- Business Performance

1 Position

The Position
The role holder will be responsible for analyzing business performance and preparing reports that assist management in strategic planning and controlling.

Candidate’s Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
    * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university
    * Must be a CPA (K) holder or ACCA finalist
    * Over six (6) years working experience in management accounting at management level in a Bank.

Key Responsibilities
    * Preparation and management of budgets and financial forecasts
    * Preparation of financial analysis and projections
    * Monitoring financial performance of the Bank
    * Periodic management accounts preparation
    * Product cost benefit analysis

Desired Skills and Ability
    * Strong leadership skills
    * Strong interpersonal skills
    * Team player
    * Strong financial analytical skills
    * Good planning and organization skills
    * Working knowledge of ERP systems
    * Good knowledge of IFRS
    * Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
    * Good working knowledge of MS office suite especially MS Excel and accounting packages

2. Finance Manager- Accounts Payable1 Position

The Position
The role holder will be responsible for managing the bank’s accounts payables and fixed assets.

Candidate’s Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
    * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university
    * Must be a CPA(K) holder or ACCA finalist
    * Over six (6) years relevant working experience in Banking at management level

Key Responsibilities
    * Management of suppliers and service provider relationships
    * Efficient management of account payables
    * Management and accounting for the Bank’s fixed assets
    * Liaising with branches on all issues relating to expenses and fixed assets
    * Management of costs

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Ability
    * Strong leadership skills
    * Strong interpersonal skills
    * Team player
    * Strong financial analytical skills
    * Good planning and organization skills
    * Working knowledge of ERP systems
    * Good knowledge of IFRS
    * Excellent communication skills- both verbal and written
    * Good working knowledge of MS Office suite especially MS Excel and accounting packages

3. Finance Manager- Tax
1 Position

The Position
The role holder will be responsible for formulating and implementing policies relating to tax and ensuring compliance with tax laws.

Candidate’s Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
    * Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognized university
    * Must be a CPA(K) holder or ACCA finalist
    * Over six (6) years relevant working experience in Banking at management level or as a Tax consultant

Key Responsibilities
    * Advise the Bank on the tax effects of all initiatives and projects
    * Ensure tax compliance for the group
    * Design and implement tax planning initiatives
    * Serve as a primary contact person for the subsidiaries on taxation matters
    * Liaison with external tax consultants and regulatory bodies in reporting tax issues

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Ability
    * Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
    * Team Player
    * Strong financial analytical skills
    * Thorough knowledge of taxation laws and tax processing systems
    * In depth knowledge of VAT and Income Tax
    * Pro active in analyzing tax laws and tax changes and their effect to the Bank
    * Strong communication skills- both verbal and written
    * Working knowledge of ERP systems
    * Good working knowledge of MS office suite especially MS Excel
