The story behind Romageco (Kenya) Ltd and suspension systems, started in 1973, when the company's owner, Rob Collinge was competing in the East African Rally Championship, driving a Mitsubishi Gallant and later a Datsun 160J. By especially modifying both cars' shock absorbers, he was able to achieve greater speeds than his competitors over rough surfaces, resulting in him winning the title in both cars.
In 1978, Rob Collinge again won the Kenya National Rally Championship in an Alfa Romeo equipped with double front shock absorbers and an ingenious cooling system for the rear shock absorbers which he engineered to cope with high speed driving on rough, rutted surfaces.
These successes earned Rob a reputation as a 'suspension guru' leading to the commencement of shock absorber development work for clients ranging from motor companies and rally teams to tour operators. Romageco Kenya Ltd was formed in 1988 and "Rob's Magic" the brand followed.
Export Sales Manager Jobs Kenya.
Functions
* Must study the market of foreign countries and must determine which countries are ideal to sell particular products and identification of new business opportunities.
* They must then travel to those companies and negotiate deals with vendors who are interested in selling foreign products.
* Must play a role in training sales representatives in foreign countries on how to demonstrate and fit the products sold by the company.
* Assisting the foreign country in advertising and raising awareness of the new products.
* Train sales representatives who will travel overseas to market products for the company.
* Plans and implements sales programs for either some or all of the company’s product line.
* Ensure execution of the developed sales strategies, plans and advertising or promotional programs.
* Perform sales forecasting, budgeting and strategic implementation to achieve sales turnover and profitability of products.
* Ensure activities are in accordance to the developed sales objectives
* Evaluate new product and international market opportunities and provide analysis to management for decision making.
* Maintain good working relationship with own client base to further grow business opportunities.
* Promote and improve sales with our overseas distributors with an aim to achieve product mix and profitability.
* Develop and manage client relationship for both confirmed and potential customers.
* Maintain contact with key markets by visiting and investigating of the operating and local conditions.
Conditions
* Plenty of international travel will be required for the export sales manager since this manager must often travel to meet with potential vendors.
* Must have a valid passport with valid traveling record to other countries.
* Must have a valid driving license.
Qualifications
* Strong work experience and educational background in sales & marketing field.
* At least 5 years sales experience, especially for distributors or dealers in the Automobile industry and preferably engaged in export sales of Motor / Automobile industry products to major retailers.
* Excellent experience and understanding of the automobile industry.
* Proof of at least 5 years work experience that qualifies for the stated functions of this position.
* Good knowledge of the import & export laws of various countries or regions.
* Posses excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills with logical thinking, aggressive, proactive and a positive thinker.
* Excellent presentation, negotiation and persuasive selling skills required
* Knowledgeable in PC Skills (MS Office, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
* Fluency in English is a MUST, and speaking a foreign language proficiently is an added advantage to facilitate better communication with foreign vendors (e.g. Swahili, French etc).
* Operationally sound and good follow up skills with customers and suppliers.
* Have the ability to think with a creative mindset to assist customers with product development.
