Job Purpose
The Manager will be the tax expert for the Equatorial African Region responsible for managing the relationships throughout the business for all Tax related queries. He/ she will be responsible for corporation tax compliance, tax computations, submission of tax returns and all correspondence including Tax planning and strategy, in line with company policy. The expert will ensure compliance with Group tax reporting requirements and review internal processes that affect tax.
Responsibilities
* Ensure compliance with respect to taxes including corporate Income tax, PAYE, VAT, Customs/Excise duties, Transfer Pricing and other tax legislation.
* Liaise with Finance and Compliance Head and Audit Partner with regard to tax information and reporting.
* Review of year-end balance sheet tax records for external auditors.
* Review deferred tax charge for financial accounting division.
* Draft and implement tax policies with regard to the Region in line with Company policy.
* Identify, implement and manage international and regional tax planning opportunities in Equatorial African Region.
* Advise Group entities with regard to compliance with international tax law, including transfer pricing issues.
* Conduct training and information sessions for executives and EAR entities on relevant tax issues.
* Prepare and review tax schedules and annual tax returns; provisional tax returns and monthly indirect tax returns.
* Prepare for and review provisional, corporate and indirect tax payments.
* Prepare and/or review responses to KRA with regard to queries and audit findings.
* Negotiation with relevant government bodies regarding application of tax legislation and concessions offered.
