VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – NURSE, TABITHA MEDICAL CLINIC
Carolina for Kibera (CFK) is a non-profit organization based in the Kibera community of Nairobi. Pursuing a world where the disadvantaged have a stake in their futures and guided by the adage “Talent is Universal, Opportunity is Not”, CFK seeks to bridge the gap between opportunity and talent, by working to develop a “wholesome youth leader” with the skills and abilities to navigate life, compete successfully and be a sphere of influence within and beyond their communities.

Working to promote ethnic, gender and religious cooperation in Kibera through a community-based sports program, CFK has since expanded to serve the community through a state-of-the-art health clinic (Tabitha Clinic), a strong adolescent girls’ empowerment program (Binti Pamoja), an HIV/AIDS Prevention & SRH information and service provision program, a youth economic empowerment program (Taka Ni Pato) and most recently and Education Program. Under an inter-program collaboration and with the support of Planned Parenthood Federation of America – International (PPFA –I), the CFK programs of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) and the Tabitha Medical Clinic are working to improve access, utilization and integration of Adolescent Sexual & Reproductive Health (ASRH) and Family Planning (FP) information and services to the clinical services. In this end we seek to recruit young Kenyan with a passion for healthcare for undeserved as a Nurse.

Based at the Tabitha Medical Clinic and reporting to the Medical Officer-in-charge and the Program Officer SRH, the Nurse will be responsible for supporting the delivery of medical care and medical services at the Tabitha Medical Clinic.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities
* Assist in the daily set up of the clinic RH services.
* Assist with referral of ill patients to preferred hospitals as authorized by the project.
* Record and maintain specified patient details on preliminary examination at the triage and RH room.
* Respond to questions about the project posed by participants and the community.
* Maintain a good relationship with the community and other clinic staff
* Support comprehensive SA/PAC including Family Planning, counseling and referrals for HIV testing services of patients.
* Keep accurate records and check filled PAC/FP and counseling forms for completeness and accuracy each day.
* Schedule follow-up visits.
* Attend meetings related to RH
* Work closely with peer educators to sensitize and conduct RH talks at the clinic and the community.
* Coordinate and network on community RH debates and forums
* Any other duties that you may be assigned from time to time.

Desired Qualifications and Experience
The desired candidate should posses the following:
* Must have a Certificate in Nursing from a recognized institution. A Diploma in nursing may be an added advantage.
* Must posses at least 2 years of clinical experience serving adolescents and youths and caring for infants, children and adults.
* Must be computer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent analytical reasoning skills and meticulous attention to detail.
* Self-starter with a diligent and professional work ethic able to independently handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
* Ability to work effectively and interdependently in a culturally diverse environment.
* A good understanding of community dynamics, knowledge and familiarity with the Kibera community and environment will be an added advantage.
