Report to the Country Manager, the Trade Marketing Manager will play a key role within the country sales team, driving excellence in in-store (4P) execution across key customers/key accounts. The role will also focus on building expert knowledge in our key categories and sharing this with the customer in order to build long term partnerships and increase profit and sales.
Scope of role
Take lead within the country in development and implementation of category management strategies, this will focus on increasing the client’s in store presence in our categories, strengthening our brands, optimizing product assortment, and promotional strategy across all channels of trade.
Responsibilities
· Develop country/customer/channel 4P strategy and tactics in line with respective head of key accounts, regional manager and building on global/country 4P strategy.
· Define Category trade marketing KPIs
· Define and manage the trade marketing budget
· Contribute to category marketing plans, with customer & category analysis and promotional strategy
· Continuous analysis of the customer’s position, work together with the National Key Account Manager and Regional Manager to recommend in store actions aimed at strengthening the client’s position in the category/channel.
· Develop and implement the client’s promotional strategy (in line with brand priorities and media plans) across customers/channels
· Presenting of 4P strategy to the customers
· The key contact for the brand marketing team with regards to all promotional and customer activity.
Requirements
· Minimum of Bachelor’s degree preferably in a business related field from a recognized University.
· 3-4 years prior trade marketing/marketing experience with a blue chip fast moving consumer goods company and preferably additional functional experience in either: Sales/Key Account function working with key retailers.
· Results oriented, entrepreneurial and self-motivating.
· Tenacious and resilient, driven to achieve even when faced with obstacles
· Leadership and interpersonal skills; capable of building strong working relationships and influencing customers and internal teams.
· Strong commercial understanding of business issues/opportunities.
· Strong communication skills, both written and oral (in English).
· Strong understanding of sales and marketing strategy, including planning
· Strong analytical skills with ability to develop strategies, tactics and measurable implementation.
