Since its inception in 1933, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) has been a global leader in emergency response and providing durable solutions for conflict- and crisis affected populations. The IRC launched programs in Kenya in the immediate aftermath of the post-election crisis, and has initiated activities that support women and girls in the Dadaab refugee camps through a variety of activities including health and GBV prevention and response programming.
IRC is currently preparing a proposal in response to a USAID-funded request for applications to expand the presence of GBV prevention and response programming throughout Kenya and support the development of peace networks and platforms for women to be effectively involved in decision making and take leadership of their country.
Applications are requested from qualified persons for the following positions:
THE TECHNICAL ADVISOR/DIRECTOR
The Technical Advisor/Director will be responsible for overall project management, supervision, administration, and implementation of project objectives including granting and procurement activities. Additionally, the Technical Advisor/Director will be the overall lead for the project, ensuring programmatic quality and adherence to best practice throughout project implementation. THE NATIONAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR
The National Program Coordinator will provide regular on-site monitoring visits, and continuous remote support to the teams working throughout the country to ensure that all interventions are technically sound, take into account international best practices, and appropriate in meeting the needs of GBV survivors in relevant communities. THE GENDER AND CONFLICT COORDINATOR
The Gender and Conflict Coordinator will advise the Women’s Peace Campaign Project and related staff, including IRC country management, on issues related to gender and conflict ensuring that prevention and mitigation strategies are put in place at all levels of program implementation. THE CAPACITY BUILDING/MONITORING AND EVALUATION SPECIALIST
The Capacity Building/Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist will be responsible for working with Kenya NGOs and CBOs on GBV and gender issues, providing on-site capacity building, mentoring, and training as needed and requested by partners.
