Location: United Republic of Tanzania (the) – Shinyanga or Tabora
Location: The position will be based in EGPAF’s Field Office in Shinyanga or Tabora; activities will cover Tabora and Shinyanga region.

Reports to: Field Office Program Coordinator Tabora/Shinyanga &Technical Advisor Training and Capacity Building, Dar es Salaam

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Program Officer Training and Capacity Building (PO TCB) is a self motivated individual who will assist the Technical Advisor TCB in facilitating training activities in the Tabora and Shinyanga regions. He / She will be based in EGPAF’s Field Office in Tabora or Shinyanga and act as the Focal Person for all training issues in these two regions. He/She will report to the Field Office Program Coordinator (FOPC), in charge of the Field Office, for practical day to day issues and to the Technical Advisor Training and Capacity Building for the technical and programmatic contents of the work. She/He will also work in close collaboration with the Program Officer for Training and Capacity building based in DSM and the Program Officers for PMTCT / Care and Treatment at the Field Offices in Tabora and Shinyanga.
The final choice between the Tabora and the Shinyanga Field Office will be based on discussion between the candidate and the FOPC’s of both offices.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS
The essential duty of the PO TCB is to assist the Technical Advisor TCB in the following responsibilities (but not limited to):

FACILITATING TRAINING FOR CARE AND TREATMENT AND PMTCT

* Co-ordination of training activities for the PMTCT and C&T programs through the development of training plans reflecting the goals and objectives of the two program components and the harmonization of training schedules of different stakeholders * Plan, prepare, conduct, evaluate and follow up training sessions including the logistics and communication involved * Prepare budgets related to trainings * Track progress at individual sites through visits and reports

PROVIDING TECHNICAL SUPPORT AND FEEDBACK

* In consultation with the Technical Advisor TCB, provide technical support to MOHSW, NACP and other National stakeholders in issues related to training and capacity building * Provide technical support to local stakeholders to ensure that training objectives of each training are clearly spelt out and in line with program goals and objectives * Provide technical input and assistance to health facilities and sites wherever applicable

DOCUMENTATION AND REPORT WRITING

* Write training reports and progress reportsto donors and other stakeholders as required * Maintain an electronic training register for all trainings conducted by EGPAF and partners * Document success stories and lessons learned

Carry out any other responsibilities as assigned by the Training Advisor Training and Capacity Building

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

* Medical degree or equivalent, (MO, AMO, Clinical Officer or Nursing Officer) * Ability to plan, prepare, conduct, evaluate and follow up training sessions including the logistics and communication involved * Proven training experience and skills * Proven experience in planning, reporting and the preparation of budgets * Proven proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and internet * Proven ability to work effectively and independently as a member of a dynamic team in fast-paced environment * Proficiency in English and Kiswahili * A committed team player and facilitator * Considered as an advantage: * Previous training in PMTCT and/or C&T according to the Tanzania NACP guidelines * Experience in the provision of RCH services * Experience in PMTCT or C&T program implementation * Experience with research programs
