Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN) is a National Membership organization whose mandate is to coordinate, facilitate and provide leadership and professional advisory services to all members and stakeholders in the areas of organic production, technical training, marketing and certification, lobbying and advocacy.

In pursuance of our mandate, KOAN is seeking qualified and experienced professionals in the following fields.

Position of Administrative Assistant
Working under the supervision of the National Co-ordinator, the Administrative Assistant will have the following;

Key duties and responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage office procedures and other tasks as assigned

• Responsible for filing and retrieving organizational documents, records and reports in addition to co-ordinating and maintaining records for staff.
• Set up and coordinate meetings, compile,and distribute minutes of meetings.
• Provide logistical support to the organization and support staff in assigned project based work
• Any other duty that may be assigned by the

National Co-ordinator
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Computer literacy skills and training particularly on website management
• Good writing, analytical and presentation skills
• Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, planning, records management and general administration.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to work well as part of team with minimum supervision

Minimum qualifications:
• Diploma in Secretarial Studies
• At least five (5) years experience in a similar position

Position of a Driver
The above position requires a person of high integrity, ability to multi task and in good health.
Key duties and responsibilities.
• Take project staff and authorized persons to and from various destinations including field work
• Responsible for day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle including cleanliness, checks on fuel, water, battery, brakes, tyres, engine, oil and informs the management of any defects to the vehicle.
• Run office errands including collecting and delivering mail as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor(s).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Motor vehicle mechanical skills.
• Competence in driving vehicles in busy urban environments and rough rural terrains.
• Ability to administer first aid.
• Good communication skills.

Minimum qualifications
• Must have a valid driving licence (BCE) and PSV certified, issued by the Government of Kenya.
• Have had at least 10 years driving experience
• A current certificate of good conduct.

For both these positions, candidates with work experience in agricultural/environmental NGOs will have an added advantage.
