1. Head, SME Banking
Reporting to the Head of Domestic Banking, the job holder will be accountable for the delivery of significant SME new business growth through well developed understanding of the key business drivers, understanding the needs of SME customers, leading marketing efforts and strong change leadership to embed a pro-active sales culture that will deliver on the growth objectives as required under the Bank’s business plans.

Key Responsibilities

    * Responsible for planning, development and management of SME banking functions
    * Deliver new business and lending book targets as required under the Bank’s business plans
    * Responsible for product development, marketing and business development opportunities
    * Grow the SME Loan Portfolio and SME Deposit base and lead SME marketing efforts in the Bank
    * Review & approve credit facilities and project loans in accordance with the guidelines of the credit policy
    * Ensure excellent & seamless service delivery and maintain support and rapport with SME customers and alliances
    * Participate in attracting long term financing sources for the Bank and in bank-wide strategic planning committees by representing the SME unit
    * Contribute and participate with senior management in the proposing of strategic direction and tactical annual plans of the SME business.

Qualifications, Experience, Competencies

    * A graduate in Business or related discipline with at least 10 years experience in banking or financial services
    * Proven record in building and developing SME funding and lending business
    * Experience in Retail Lending, Sales and Marketing
    * Sound knowledge of SME lending products and branch distribution structure operated by competitors
    * Knowledge of risk management, credit policies and their applications.
    * Strong leadership, strategic thinking, change management, customer management and interpersonal/communication skills
    * Competence in financial analysis and monitoring and reviewing sales performance/ analysis
    * Business and strategy development experience and ability to identify target market develop products and services and evaluate business opportunities.
    * Proven ability to drive change and to deliver results.

2. Head, Local Corporates
The Position

Reporting to the Head of Domestic Banking, the job holder will be in charge of acquiring, developing and strengthening Local Corporates (LC) relationships through effective relationship management in accordance with business objectives, with the aim of developing and growing business in this sector.

Key Responsibilities

    * Business growth in the LC sector in order to contribute to the bottom-line of Domestic Bank
    * Ensure superior customer service in order to contribute to the overall customer experience of LC customers
    * Effective coordination and communication with Branch Managers and RMs on marketing initiatives for the business sector
    * Identify and develop new business proposals efficiently and expeditiously to ensure that potential new business opportunities with existing and new clients are not lost to competitors
    * Assess and recommend high quality credit facilities for existing and potential clients
    * Develop and implement marketing plans and lead marketing drives for the sector

Qualifications, Experience, Competencies

    * A business related degree with at least 5 years in Relationship Management of which 2 years must have been in a Financial Institution managing relationships in the above stated sector
    * Proven track record of achieving marketing targets; Results oriented
    * Thorough knowledge of Local Corporates
    * Excellent planning, organizing and communication skills
    * Good sales and negotiation skills
    * Excellent financial and business acumen
    * Ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders

3. Head, Public Sector
The Position

Reporting to the Head of Corporate Banking, the job holder will be in charge of acquiring, developing and strengthening Public Sector (PS) relationships through effective relationship management in accordance with business objectives, with the aim of developing and growing business in this sector.

Key Responsibilities

    * Ensure business growth and customer acquisition for Public Sector Corporates
    * Focus on cash flows and deposit mobilization
    * Provide superior customer service for Public Sector Corporate clients
    * Effective coordination and communication with Branch Managers and Relationship Managers on marketing initiatives for the Public Sector
    * Identify and develop new business proposals efficiently and expeditiously to ensure that potential new business opportunities with existing and new clients are not lost to competitors
    * Assess and recommend high quality credit facilities for existing and potential clients
    * Develop and implement marketing plans and lead marketing drives for the Public Sector

Qualifications, Experience, Competencies

    * A business related degree with at least 5 years in Relationship Management in Public Sector (not necessarily in a Financial Institution although experience in handling Public Sector names in a bank will be an added advantage)
    * Proven track record of achieving marketing targets; Results oriented
    * Thorough knowledge of Public Sector Corporates
    * Excellent planning, organizing and communication skills
    * Good sales and negotiation skills
    * Excellent financial and business acumen
    * Ability to interact with a wide variety of stakeholders
    * Strong networking skills

4. Head, General Internal Services (GIS)
The Position

Reporting to the Head of Operations & Technology, the job holder will ensure that the Bank’s general services are managed according to the Bank’s standards and approved policy.

Key Responsibilities

    * Ensure that the Bank’s consumables and stationery are procured and distributed to user departments/branches at reasonable costs and on a timely basis
    * Ensure that the Bank acquires necessary assets/equipment at reasonable prices
    * Ensure that rental revenue from the Bank’s owned premises is duly received and accounted for
    * Ensure that all licences and contracts are available and renewed on a timely basis
    * Ensure that suppliers are paid without delay for services rendered
    * Ensure that the Bank’s visitors are duly received, accommodated and travel arrangements handled as per the Bank’s policies (Protocol)
    * Ensure that the Bank’s premises are regularly maintained and bank equipment properly serviced and in good working order
    * Responsible for ensuring that outsourced services providers deliver against defined requirements
    * Responsible for the Bank’s assets, premises, leases and contracts
    * Careful co-ordination with other units of the bank to ensure expected level of service is provided

Qualifications, Experience, Competencies

    * A university degree plus at least 5 years experience in a similar position. Banking experience is an added advantage
    * Sound knowledge of supply and purchasing practices
    * Competence in financial accounting
    * Excellent leadership and negotiation skills
    * Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service orientation skills
    * Knowledge and application of technology methods of service delivery and ability to seek for innovative ways of performing the Bank’s general services functions

5. Branch Managers
The Position

Reporting to the Head of Domestic Banking, the job holder will manage and control the branch sales and marketing in order to maximize new business opportunities and deepen existing relationships, whilst providing quality in service delivery in an efficient operation where risks are well controlled.

Key Responsibilities

    * Overall management of the branch in its entirety, setting and monitoring branch service standards
    * Mobilize deposits to exceed branch targets, build up a portfolio of asset and liability customers and cross-sell a range of Corporate and Retail products
    * Direct involvement and supervision of all revenue generation at the branch level
    * Create and maintain a cohesive and motivated team at the branch level
    * Assist in the preparation of budget and strategic plans and ensure implementation at the branch level
    * Prepare annual operational and capital budget and ensure that expected profitability objectives are achieved
    * Provide periodic reports on branch encompassing progress and prospects to Management.
    * Ensure operational efficiency by ensuring proper control and enhance customer service through quick turnaround time on service delivery

Qualifications, Experience, Competencies

    * A university degree plus 5 years all round banking experience in a similar position and experience in retail lending propositions preparing and processing
    * Sound knowledge of general banking law and practices
    * Competence in financial accounting/forecasts
    * Excellent leadership skills and well-developed credit analysis skills
    * Ability to plan daily and periodic operations; Sales targeting and results orientation
    * High marketing and selling proficiency
    * Strong interpersonal and communication skills

6. Credit Risk Manager

Reporting to the Country Risk Manager, the job holder will provide leadership to Credit Risk Management Unit and oversee management of risks inherent in the credit process, loan documentation and portfolio management. This job includes early warning signs and remedial management for non-performing loans.

Key Responsibilities

    * Ensure effectiveness of the unit structure and systems (policies, process, procedure and tools) in achieving compliance requirements, optimal efficiency, resource utilization and cost containment
    * Review of sectorial ceilings; discretionary authorities, portfolio measures including industry limits, tenor limits, risk rating, NPLs, risk acceptance criteria, security acceptance and credit risk matrices
    * Initiate review of industry and sector economic analysis and compile statistical information including macro-economic information and indices
    * Ensure minimization of exposures and impacts of credit risks
    * Oversee Credit Risk Management Services ie. approvals, disbursements, reports and remedial management, in supporting business goals
    * Application of risk-based pricing models
    * Provide leadership within the unit and ensure it translates into conducive work environment and employee satisfaction
    * Safe custody and ease of retrieval of credit securities
    * Provide guidance and advice on all Credit Risk Management, administration and policy related issues
    * Provide technical support to the Executive Committee on the management of the Bank’s credit portfolio and the review and approval process for credit proposals

Qualifications, Experience, Competencies

    * A university degree in business related discipline and relevant professional qualifications ie. CPA, ACIB, AKIB and ACCA.
    * MBA is an added advantage
    * 10 years of banking experience of which at least 5 years must have been in credit risk management
    * Thorough knowledge and experience in modern Credit Risk Management practices in Financial Services industry to provide visionary guidance on improvement and change
    * Self empowerment to enable development of open communication, employee satisfaction, manage change and teamwork required to support performance and customer-service oriented culture
