1. Administrative Position
University Librarian

Person Profile
* Applicants should hold a PhD degree or equivalent in Library and Information Science from a recognized institution.
* They should have at least 5 Years post qualification experience as a Senior Librarian in a large academic Library.
* Applicants with Masters Degree in Library and information Science with at least 10 years experience as Senior Librarian or higher position, in an academic Library will also be considered.
* Must be competent in relevant ICT applications, integrated library soft and e-information.
* They should show evidence in research and publications and other professional activities.
* Be a dynamic person with ability to provide effective leadership and promote teamwork.
Job Profile
Reporting to the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & Research), the successful candidate will be responsible for continuous development and provision of efficient Library services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Overall administration, coordination and management of Library services.
* Formulation and development Library policies to meet university goals and objectives.
* Oversee the collection development and management of university resources leading to the provision of relevant and upto date information resources for the academic and research activities.
* Developing human resource by through staff performance appraisal, assisting in the staff recruitment and selection and making recommendations for promotion and training of library staff.
* Planning for the University Physical resources and equipment as well as the information services that will contribute towards the university goals and objectives.
2. Teaching Positions
We want to strengthen our staffing position within our schools.
In particular we are looking for Lectures, Senior Lecturers and Associate Professors in the following areas:
* Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Accounting and Economics.
* Computer Science, Computer Architecture and Assembly, Language programming. Information Technology, Telecommunications and Electronics Engineering.
* Law
* Education management/Administration, Education Planning, Education Economics and Communication Skills
(a) Associate Professor
Grade-KABU 9

2 positions
For appointment into this position, applicants should be holders of PhD or equivalent academic degree with;
* At least eight (8) years of University teaching experience, three (3) of which should be at Senior Lecturer level and at least five (5) publications in refereed journals, or one book plus two (2) publications in the relevant area since becoming Senior Lecturer.
* Attended and contributed at learned conferences, seminars or workshops, national development and be a member of recognized relevant professional bodies.
(b) Senior Lecturer

7 Positions
For appointment into this position, applicants will be required to have a PhD degree or its academic equivalent in the relevant field with at least three (3) years of teaching experience in the position of a Lecturer at University level and continued research as evidenced by at least three (3) publications in refereed journals.
(c) Lecturers
Grade KABU 7

8 Positions
For appointment into this position, applicants should:
* Hold a PhD degree or its academic equivalent in the relevant field. OR
* Hold a Masters Degree in the relevant field with at least three (3) years of University teaching as an Assistant lecturer and continued research as evidenced by at least two (2) publications in refereed journals.
3. Remuneration and Terms of Employment:
Appointments to the above positions will be on permanent and pensionable following a satisfactory probation period of six (6) months.
A competitive compensation package will be offered to successful candidates.
In addition to teaching and academic management, successful candidates for the teaching positions would be expected to drive research; consultancy and outreach. They are also expected to provide inspired and innovatory subject leadership and mentorship to students.
