Nairobi Hospital Nursing Lecturer Locum Staff Jobs.
The Nairobi Hospital, a leading health care institution in Eastern Africa has the following openings:-

Lecturer – Theatre Nursing

Reporting to the Principal, School of Nursing, the successful candidate will take a lead role in developing competent nurses by providing integration of nursing theory and practice in the Bachelor of Science, Kenya Registered Nursing (KRN) and other basic and post–basic nursing education programmes.

Particular Responsibilities Include:

* Conducting training programmes.
* Participating in curriculum development and review for both Basic and Post Basic programs.
* Organising lesson plans and teaching resources for learning programmes.
* Participating in recruitment of students.* Setting, moderating, administering and marking examinations.
* Supervising students in both classroom and clinical set-up.
* Providing guidance and counselling to students.
* Participating in the development and review of policies, procedures and standards.
* Maintaining proper students’ records throughout training.
* Taking up departmental responsibilities in the absence of the Principal, School of Nursing and Principal Lecturers.
* Contributing to research, publications, professional conferences and workshops.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

* Bachelor of Science in Nursing or a Diploma in Advanced Nursing.
* 5 years work experience, 3 of which should have been in teaching and assessing.
* Theatre Nursing experience,
* Good mentoring and counselling skills.

Staff Nurses – Locum

Reporting to the Charge Sisters, the candidates will be expected to provide and maintain high professional standards of nursing care utilizing the set standards, procedures and policies, to meet the patients’ needs.

Particular Responsibilities Include:

* Utilizing the standard procedures of nursing care to continuously improve the quality of nursing care.
* Exercising professionalism at all times while treating patients with dignity, privacy and respect.
* Maintaining good interpersonal relationship amongst the nursing team, patients and other disciplines.
* Safeguarding all confidential information concerning patients and their treatment.
* Communicating effectively with patients, relatives and other professionals to advocate for patients.
* Utilizing infection control measures to provide a safe and suitable environment for patients/ staff and others.
* Upholding professional code of conduct and statutory regulations.
* Reporting all complaints and incidents to the shift in-charge as they occur in their line of duty.
* Safeguarding hospital equipment and patient’s property from damage, wastage or loss.
* Maintaining and regularly updating professional knowledge and competence through education, self motivated learning and participating in research in the ward.
* Providing accurate documentation, proper record keeping and storage for continuity.
* Utilizing the available resources effectively for quality service delivery and cost containment.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Diploma (KRN/KRM/KRCHN) from an accredited School of Nursing.
* Bachelor of Science in Nursing is an added advantage.
* Minimum two years experience in a busy hospital.
