Our client ,the fastest growing micro-finance institution seeks to recruit two professionals for the position of Financial Controller ,one to be based in Daresalaam and another in Kampala.

JOB TITLE : FINANCIAL CONTROLLER
REPORTS TO : DIVISIONAL FINANCIAL MANAGER
SALARY : VERY COMPETITIVE
LOCATION: DARESALAAM AND KAMPALA

JOB PURPOSE/KEY FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS:
Overall country responsible for overseeing and implementation of financial controls, forecasting, cash flow management,
The incumbent will be responsible for:
Overall strategic and operational financial management of the country;
Overseeing the full accounting function of the country;
Preparation of annual financial statements;
Profitability analysis; including provision of financial information for decision making,
Overseeing the implementation of appropriate financial and management accounting systems and plans for the country, by introducing appropriate financial and accounting systems, processes, policies and controls;
Ensuring that monthly financial information is communicated effectively to stakeholders.
Monitoring cash flow in each country and ensuring that monthly reporting to head office is undertaken
Interact with the tax authorities of the country
Request funding from head office based on cash flow estimates
Reconciliation of financial accounts including bank and clearing accounts.
Reconcile transactions between an independent debtors system and the accounting system
Prepare cashbooks and petty cash information accurately and ensure they are submitted in a timely basis to head office.
Process transactions on in-house accounting system.
Coordinate and complete annual country budgets and monthly forecasts for the various branches within the country as well as country operations.
Calculate, complete and submit all necessary forms relating to provisional tax, income tax and withholding tax.
Calculate and submit all necessary forms relating to VAT.
Ensure all payments are made in a timely fashion.
Interaction with external auditors
Ensure audits are completed within group audit timelines.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
A qualified Accountant with a recognized B Com (Hons) / B Compt accounting degree or equivalent qualification.
A post graduate qualification and registration as a Chartered Accountant, or equivalent registration with a professional institution is an advantage
Completed Articles together with at least 4 year financial management experience in a financial services environment.
Willingness to travel to various branches in operation in country.
