Job Title: Accountant
Reports to: Finance Manager
SUMMARY
General accounting including preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules and ledgers and
account and bank reconciliations. Assisting with monthly closings and account analysis and supporting the
procurement and stores in carrying out their responsibilities
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Assist in procurement and stores
2. Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts
3. General ledger operations
4. Prepare journal entries
5. Assist with monthly closings and preparation of monthly financial statements
6. Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports
7. Assist with accounts receivable and accounts payable
8. Assist with tax computations and returns
9. Assist in budgets and forecasts
10. Assist with payroll administration
11. Account/bank reconciliations
12. Assist with preparation and coordination of the audit process
13. Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
Education and Experience
1. CPA (K) or degree or equivalent
2. Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
3. Knowledge of finance principles
4. Knowledge of financial reporting
5. Technical accounting skills
6. Previous experience of general accounting
7. Proficiency in relevant accounting software
