School of Medicine and Health Sciences
Kenya Methodist University, a chartered Christian institution of higher learning based in Meru and with campuses in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Nyeri and Maua wishes to recruit dynamic and qualified professionals in the School of Medicine and Health Sciences for the following positions.
A. Human Anatomy, Medical Physiology, Medical Biochemistry, Human Pathology and Medical Microbiology & Parasitology
1. Professors
Applicants must be holders of at least a PhD or M.Med in the relevant discipline (M.Med in Surgery for Human Anatomy) with at least three years University teaching experience.
The candidate must have published at least six papers in the area of specialization in refereed journals and have supervised postgraduate students since the last appointment. Must show ability to attract research funding and must be affiliated to a related professional body.
2. Associate Professors
Applicants must be holders of at least a PhD or M.Med in the relevant discipline (M.Med in Surgery for Human Anatomy) with at least three years of University teaching experience.
The candidate must have published at least three publications in refereed journals or two University level books in the area of specialization since last appointment and must have supervised postgraduate students.
3. Senior Lecturers
Applicants must be holders of at least a PhD or M.Med in the relevant discipline (M.Med in Surgery for Human Anatomy) with at least 3 years University teaching experience. The candidate must have supervised graduate students, and have at least four publications in refereed journals.
4. Lecturers
Applicants must be holders of at least a PhD or M.Med in the relevant discipline (M.Med in Surgery for Human Anatomy). Must be able to supervise graduate students and have at least four publications in refereed journals. Evidence of production of quality teaching materials will be added advantages.
NB: A MSc. or BSc. in relevant discipline for those with M.Med will be an added advantage for all the above positions.
B. Public Health
1. Professors
Applicants must be holders of at least a PhD in Public Health with at least three years University teaching experience. Candidates must have published at least six papers in the area of specialization in refereed journals, must have supervised postgraduate students, must show ability to attract research funding and must be affiliated to a related professional body.
2. Associate Professors
Applicants must be holders of at least a PhD in Public Health with at least three years of University teaching experience and a minimum of three publications in refereed journals or two University level books in the area of specialization. Must have supervised postgraduate
students.
3. Senior Lecturers
Applicants must be holders of at least a PhD in Public Health with at least 3 years’ University teaching experience, must have supervised graduate students and also have at least four publications in refereed journals.
4. Lecturers
Applicants must be holders of at least a PhD in Public Health, must be able to supervise graduate students and have at least four publications in refereed journals.
C. Laboratory Technologists
Applicants must be holders of at least BSc. in Medical Laboratory Sciences with at least 3 years’ working experience in the relevant field or a holder of Higher Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences with at least 5 years’ working experience in the relevant field.
D. Laboratory Technicians
Applicants must be holders of Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences with at least 3 years’ working experience in the relevant field.
