Position Title: Planning Database Coordinator & Strategic Vendor Accounting
Reports to: Director, Network Planning & Strategic Design
Duty Station: Nairobi, Kenya
Basic Purpose:
Our client’s network expansion planning processes are data intensive. The role will therefore be responsible for managing technical and capital data related to expansion planning within all of the Company’s operations. The role shall also coordinate the plan approval process and ensure that the various stakeholders within the process have provided inputs as required. The role shall also engage with the Company’s operations and strategic vendors on a regular basis for reconciliation of data related to network deployment vs contracted agreements.
Main Responsibilities and Duties
The candidate will be responsible for:
1. Planning validation process:
Coordinate the planning process by collecting data from the the Company’s operations and ensuring that the plans are validated by the relevant functional experts at the head office. The role shall be expected to optimise and streamline any processes already in place.
The plan validation process is data intensive and the role is required to identify and arrange for the collection of the required data inputs from the the Company’s operations, to setup and maintain appropriate repositories for the data, and to do data mining to provide management reports as well as detailed technical / capital expenditure reports for the business as and when required.
2. Strategic vendor accounting:
The Company has vendor supply contracts with strategic vendors that require regular reconciliation of contract commitments vs actual deployments. The role shall be responsible for data collection, reconciliation, and vendor sign-off of deployed vs contracted supply items.
Education, Skills & Knowledge:
The ideal candidate will:
* Have a strong background in data management
* Be an expert in Database management and an expert user of Microsoft Excel.
* Have the ability to setup and administer databases, automate processes that involve collection and manipulation of data, and generation of standard reports.
* Have a high level or deep knowledge of GSM network systems
* Experience GSM network planning shall be an added benefit.
* Be detail oriented
* Have strong interpersonal skills
* Be a pro-active, team player
* Be non-confrontational and have multicultural sensitivity.
* Be a good communicator
* Be resourceful and good at multi-tasking.
* Be in possession of a degree in Electronics / Telecom / Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from reputable institution.
