Programme Assistant – Trade Information Programme (TIP) Job: Institute of Economic Affairs - Kenya
The Institute of Economic Affairs is a civic forum that seeks to promote pluralism of ideas through open, active and informed debate on public policy issues. The IEA is independent of political parties, pressure groups, lobbies and any other partisan interests. IEA is liberal and non-partisan in orientation. The IEA's mandate is to promote informed debate on key policy issues both economic and political and to propose feasible policy alternatives in these areas. In addition, the institute provides research backup to policy makers including members of parliament.
The Institute of Economic Affairs - Kenya (IEA – Kenya), a public policy Think Tank that seeks to promote participation in public policy development through research and informed debate, seeks to fill the following position:
Programme Assistant – Trade Information Programme (TIP)
This Programme Assistant reports to the Trade Information Programme Officer and is responsible for the organization and administration of TIP activities to ensure timely and efficient programme delivery.
Specific Responsibilities
* Identify and maintain the database of state and non-state actors involved in the trade negotiations process.
* Provide administrative support to the TIP and ensure proper record keeping of programme documents and output.
* Organize stakeholder consultative meetings and workshops on topical trade matters following the approved work plan.
* Assist the Programme Officer in the production of bulletins, media notes and activity reports for TIP.
* Assist the Programme officer in liaison activities between the institution and other national, regional and international organizations in the area of international trade.
Qualifications and Competencies
* A Bachelors Degree in relevant field.
* 1-2 years experience in administrative work will be an added advantage.
* Excellent computer skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Demonstrate a wide knowledge base and ability to read widely.
An attractive remuneration package will be offered. This is a six-month fixed term contract.
