CARE International UK is recruiting a Project Coordinator for the Regional Resilience Enhancement Against Drought (RREAD) Programme, based in Nairobi, Kenya.

The post-holder will be responsible for coordinating a three-country cross-border programme in the Horn of Africa which aims to build the resilience of vulnerable pastoralist communities in drought-prone areas.

The post-holder will facilitate coordination between the three Country Offices: Kenya, Ethiopia and Somalia, ensuring that synergies are created between them and supporting/strengthening the regional dimension of the programme.

Salary: GBL £30,907 Per Annum Pro Rata

Location: Nairobi, Kenya
Duration: 18 month fixed term contract

In collaboration with the three Country Offices, the post-holder will be responsible for the monitoring and evaluation of the programme’s performance against agreed outputs and indicators.

This will involve working with key staff to agree a monitoring framework and plan, and ensuring donor compliance including producing timely financial and narrative reports. The post-holder will also be expected to promote learning and assist in meeting advocacy objectives.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in the region with a good understanding of key development issues facing pastoralists in the Greater Horn of Africa. The candidate will hold a degree in a relevant subject preferably postgraduate studies or relevant field experience.

The post-holder will have strong project and budget management skills. Excellent communication and team working skills will be needed along with financial literacy. Local language skills are also desirable.
