CARE International in Somalia/South Sudan is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position Grants and Contracts Accountant/Analyst's overall responsibilities will be to ensure that controls applicable to each grant are observed including the resolution of kick-outs, rolling out coding slips, provide support to PMs and SCs, informing all concerned about budget over/under expenditures and recommending actions such as line item re-alignments and other budget revisions. The position is also responsible for data analysis and all report preparation activities in co-ordination with the Budget and Grants Coordinator.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Budget and Grants Co-ordinator, the Grants and Contracts Accountant/Analyst will maintain Scala's Contract File and ensure that this is accurate in terms of contract start and dates and all other important information, provide analyzed AR balance reports to the relevant and ensure that all activities relating to the collection and settlement of receivables and payables are on track, document and ensure the processing of all Scala transactions related to grants and contract receipts, revenue recognition, donor invoicing and balance offsets. Synchronize Scala views to DRP tables and upload transactions accurately and on timely basis. Enter and maintain all account maps developed by the Budget Co-ordinator together with PMs/SC in the DRP's account mapping module and print out and distribute the resulting Coding Sheets to all concerned.
The incumbent will be expected to at least transaction mapping routines for all active grants and identify transactions failing donor reporting criteria (kick-outs), investigate reasons for the exception and inform the Budget Co-ordinator and Finance Manager as to the cause and solution to the issues. Co-ordinate, document the required adjusting journal entries and enter them into Scala. Maintain a log for documenting reasons for kick-outs and suggest to the Finance Manager what course of action is required to prevent these from re-occurring, provide ad hoc support to G+C customers such as PMs and SC in resolution of problems related to reporting, DRP mapping and grant specific budget controls, prepare donor and other reports at the request of the Budget/Grants Co-ordinator and maintain the EURO and other third currency ledgers updated to facilitate tracking in the contract original currency.

Required skills and qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, commerce, Finance or Accounting with CPA II.
* 3 years experience in similar position.
* Good Knowledge of English.
* Working knowledge of an integrated accounting software.
* solid knowledge of various donor regulations
* Computer skills (High Level)
* Excellent writing skills
* Strong accounting knowledge of Grants and Contracts.
