General Manager–ICT (Business Development, Sales and Marketing)
Our client, ICT solutions providers in Africa is looking for a General Manager–ICT (Business Development, Sales and Marketing) to expand their business in the East Africa market. Over the years our client has positions themselves as a trusted ICT solutions provider for enterprise clients by offering integrated managed services across Africa.
They are led by an entrepreneurial and experienced executive team committed to providing the best client experience.
The General Manager will provide leadership focused on operations proficiency, employee relations, community relations, competition, and client ownership. The position involves in providing leadership to skilled technicians that install and maintain the on-going projects as well as exploring dynamic marketing and sales opportunities.
The position also plays a key role with sales, marketing and regulatory organizations in evaluating new business opportunities to determine the appropriate network support costs and time frames associated with new revenue streams.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Business Development, Marketing & Sales: The General Manage will drive a sales culture,develop and execute tactical sales and marketing strategies and market distribution plans, develop a thorough understanding of the local competition and engage in marketing initiatives to promote the Company’s products and services, be directly responsible for P&L and deliver against goals that drive results.Leadership: The General Manager will holds his/her team accountable to achieving results through coaching and performance management, providing consistent feedback and direction to staff to ensure employee development, engagement and business knowledge transfer.
He/she will ensure a positive work environment is maintained by listening and responding to clients, employee
feedback, issues and concerns in a timely manner.
Client Ownership: The General Manager will foster a strong client-oriented work ethic,removing barriers to client engagement, responding to issues identified on client surveys, soliciting process improvement suggestions and streamlining the work, ensuring action plans are developed and employees hold each other accountable to meet Client needs/demands.
Position Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- At least 4 years of demonstrated business unit or sales and marketing management experience
in a recurring revenue/subscription based business, in the communications or related field.
- Strong leadership & interpersonal skills along with strong work ethics.
- Excellent problem solving skills and tenacity.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and able to communicate with all levels of the
organization and different audiences – field technicians, direct reports, senior management,
clients, etc.
- Strong public presentation skills, with an in-depth knowledge of the local market with strong
community connections and the ability to establish long term relationships.
- Exposure to Business Development emerging markets will be an added advantage.
The position is open to candidates of all nationalities, willing to work in Nairobi.
Remuneration: The package offered will be commensurate with experience and industry practices.
