CARE is looking for a suitable candidate to fill the position of Program Support Officer for the Africa Adaptation Learning Program based in Nairobi to ensure effective operation of all procurement, administrative and support functions and coordinate correspondence both internally and externally with the Nairobi ALP Coordination team, the four ALP country teams in Ghana, Niger, Mozambique and Kenya and other stakeholders.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Regional ALP Program Coordinator, the Program Support Officer (PSO) will provide support to the program management and will ensure all relevant program reports, are circulated according to required formats, standards and timeframe, establish and maintain paper and electronic filing systems, maintain system to ensure payments, charging and financial reports are produced accurately and on time for sending to the donor each quarter as well as support budgeting for coordination team expenses.The PSO will oversee the administration and Logistics and will be expected to provide administration support as needed to ALP Country teams and partners, maintain an internal record of ALP program coordination team activities, visitors and travels, coordinate the booking of venues, accommodation, hire of transport/taxis and ensure accurate bills are presented to the finance department for payment, organize and supervise errand running and deliveries and other tasks as needed.
The incumbent of this position will be responsible for communications & information storage and will provide support in the formatting, designing and laying out of ALP products and articles, liaise with identified websites for ALP dissemination, and inform ALP team of their upcoming topics, schedules and requirements for articles. The PSO will also function as content manager for the internal ALP shared drive, maintain an updated resource center/library in Nairobi.
The position holder will be expected to have constant liaison with the CSSS department and serve as a point person for directing requests from ALP staff to the appropriate departments of CSSS that include HR, IT, Finance, Procurement and Administration.

Required skills and qualifications
* Diploma in Business Administration, Communications, Administration or other relevant studies
* 4 -5 years of relevant experience such as in an international development organization
* Excellent skills using Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Power-point and Publisher.
* Three years of experience in administrative support and information management.
