Our Public Relations function is driven by creativity and innovation, and fosters high-performing individuals who deliver outstanding results to both stakeholders and customers.
As a result of the expanded role of PR in the company’s brand management strategy, we are seeking to fill the position of Assistant Public Relations Officer.
Reporting to the Public Relations Manager, the following are the mandatory attributes for this position:
Knowledge and Skills:
* You should have the drive to build a strong brand as well as have an outstanding skill in the development of communication and advertising campaigns, utilizing appropriate media and communication platforms for the target audience.
* You should be a top-of-the-range creative guru who is able to develop a credible strategy on how to strengthen our corporate brand and products positioning, and should have a thorough knowledge of, and experience with the local advertising and media industry.
* Corporate brand and communication management of the organization, including, planning, positioning and measurement of brand management strategies.
* As a corporate brand and communication champion, excellent interpersonal and influencing skills will be required to manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels, to drive initiatives and ensure all activities support the company’s corporate brand strategy.
* In addition, you will be responsible for leveraging the organization’s CSR strategy, and developing an annual plan to support the corporate brand objectives.
* You will have excellent experience in media buying and negotiation skills.
* You will contribute to our overall brand awareness and market share growth.
* You will have a demonstrable commitment to quality control, and demonstrated ability in successfully managing multiple projects with numerous stakeholders and within very tight deadlines.
* You will play a key role in corporate events management involving a cross section of stakeholders.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role the preferred candidate must:
* Possess a Degree in Mass Communication, or a Degree in any social science discipline coupled with a Postgraduate qualification in Mass Communication.
* Have at least three years’ experience in an Advertising Agency or a busy PR Environment, with a definite bias to advertising and the creative process.
* Have a humble but outgoing personality.
* Have exemplary DTP skills.
