Rural Energy Foundation (REF) facilitates access to renewable energy to hundreds of thousands of rural people in sub-Saharan Africa. It does so by establishing effective supply chains (by establishing and training entrepreneurs and technicians in solar energy solutions), by stimulating demand (by large awareness campaigns) and by facilitating access to loans to entrepreneurs and end users. The approach works: during the past 3 years REF facilitated access to electricity to more than 332,000 people at a cost of less than EUR 4 per connected person.
Lutheran World Relief (LWR) is a US non-governmental organization headquartered in Baltimore, Maryland, and works with partners worldwide to help people grow food, improve health, strengthen communities, end conflict, build livelihoods and recover from disasters.

Lutheran World Relief has its presence in East African region with the regional office situated in Nairobi, Kenya and Country Offices in Uganda and Tanzania.

Lutheran World Relief seeks to recruit for the position of a Finance and Administration Officer for its Regional Office in Nairobi, Kenya, based in Nairobi with frequent travel to the Country Programmes in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

The Finance Officer will support the Regional Finance Manager in the administrative and financial functions of the regional office.

Purpose: Assist the Regional Finance Manager on all bookkeeping, budgeting, financial analysis and reporting. S/ he will assist with providing support to the partners’ financial operations, reporting and management.
Required Skills and qualifications:
* Deep commitment to LWR’s core values and ability to model those values in relationships with colleagues and partners.
* Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce- Accounting or Certified Public Accountant Part II
* Three years minimum experience in financial accounting and administration; prior experience with NGO accounting and grants accounting is an added advantage.
* Fluent in English and Kiswahili with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge and experience in General Ledger package, preferably Quick Books, is required.
* Strong computer and internet skills (MS Word, Excel, Explorer
* Willingness to travel to LWR’s projects in Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania
